Employer Administrators are able to modify some details on the website and certain other protected details would need the assistance of the Work-History Administrator. Please email requests to admin@work-history.com .

What is a Work-History CCC Reference?

Clients, customers and colleagues (CCCs) of employees can all have their say and can easily provide their own workplace references via the Work-History system. Work-History’s CCC reference system allows instant feedback that goes directly to the employee and employer via email. To be able to provide a reference a client, customer or colleague must be an existing Work-History member. This ensures the reference is from a genuine source and cannot be submitted anonymously.

How do I pay for CCC References and why should I pay?

a. How to pay?

When a CCC Reference is submitted for a current or previous employee, an email notification will be sent to you and the employee to whom the reference has been created. Employers can only view the Reference, once you have paid AUD $2 by following the link in the email and ensuring you have Reference view credits available. Additional credits may be purchased at any time using the shopping cart and secure payment gateway. (please note BPay transactions have a minimum spend of $20.00 but you can pay smaller amounts using credit card)

b. Why would I pay?

It is your choice whether to read the CCC Reference, however, Work-History strongly recommends you read all references in order to monitor and maintain client, customer and colleague relations.

This open communication will help build rapport and ensure client, colleague and customer satisfaction from those who are able to best render an informal appraisal of performance.

c. How to check if an employee’s TFN (Tax File Number) has been used before on Work-History?

When you add a new employee record, Work-History verifies if the username, email and TFN information is unique. If a TFN has previously been used, the system will indicate for which employee it has already been entered to assist you in identifying the correct employee information to use.

What if my Employee does not have an email address or access to a computer?

An email address is required to register as a member of Work-History in order to receive confirmation of your username, password, PIN and ongoing consent requests. We recommend as a best practice that an employer should set up an email account for each employee, on the company’s email system or assist in creating a new account under Hotmail, Gmail or any other free email alternative.

If an employee does not have access to a computer, you could also either arrange temporary access to a computer at work or possibly suggest an Internet café or alternative.

What if an employee changes their name?

If for any reason an employee changes their name (i.e. gets married) the employee needs to contact the Work-History system Administrator (admin@work-history.com)

What privacy essentials do I need to know?

As a privacy measure, your employer may choose to hide their valuable staff and their Star Ratings. As an employee you can nonetheless decide to send out links to My Work-History profile to a prospective employer, but you cannot override your current employers desire to hide your current employment records. The employer chooses whether to hide current employee records from public view and being searchable.

I am not happy with my Privacy Settings, what options do I have?

At any point you can Opt Out or Opt In to Work-History. There are several Privacy Options available to you in the Employee Services section. Should these options not suit your current needs, you can either Opt Out or email admin@work-history.com for options and assistance.

How do I make my Work-History profile disappear from Work-History completely?

At any point you can Opt Out or Opt In to Work-History. The Employee Services section has several Privacy Options available to you, including remove all Work-History Records. You can also email admin@work-history.com for options.

I have hidden some roles, can I still receive CCC References?

You cannot receive CCC References for any roles that you have hidden. However people searching for your profile may find other Role records to which they could supply a CCC Reference.

I have hidden some roles, what happens to my Star Rating average for that employer and overall roles?

Star Rating averages are not affected by hiding a role and therefore the average for that employer will not be changed. Overall averages will also not be changed by hiding a role.

Can I change my mind about publishing my Work-History Profile at anytime?

Yes. At any point you can Opt Out or Opt In to Work-History.

What do I need to know about fraud?

If any Work-History record cannot be substantiated when challenged, the record and the Work-History Member status will be reviewed and may be canceled.

Are Work-History charges tax deductible?

How can I be protected against an employer who I feel is biased or harsh?

Firstly, if you do not agree with any Star Rating given to you, you can choose NOT TO CONSENT to it, and as such it will not be published on the Work-History site. Work-History also allows for Challenges to be made to Star Ratings made by employers, which allows communication between the two parties to ultimately reach an agreement with consent.

If you are a good employee and you have many positive CCC References, and at the same time your employer gives you what you consider to be an unfair Star Rating quite frankly your employer will look unreasonable. If Clients, Customers and Colleagues all provide this positive information, potentially your employer will be compelled to provide a positive Star Rating. This helps prevent any bias or unfairness from employers.

What is a CCC Reference?

Clients, customers and colleagues (CCCs) of employees can all have their say and can easily provide references via the Work-History system. Work-History’s CCC reference system allows instant feedback that goes directly to the employee and employer via email. To be able to provide a reference a client, customer or colleague must be an existing Work-History member. This ensures the reference is from a genuine source and is not anonymous. This open communication will help build rapport and ensure customer satisfaction from those who are able to best render an appraisal.

Who can I provide a CCC Reference for?

Once you are a registered Work-History member you have the ability to write a CCC Reference on any other Work-History member. This reference can be in your own private capacity or in your capacity as an employee. For example references can be provided for:

  • Builder, Tradesperson or Contractor
  • Real estate agent
  • Cab driver
  • Office worker
  • Cleaners
  • Lawyers
  • Politicians
  • Doctors / Nurses
  • Teachers
  • Actors
  • Singers / Dancers
  • Hospitality workers
  • Wait staff / Bar staff
  • Retail Assistant etc

What is the credibility of CCC References?

Anyone providing a CCC Reference has to be a Work-History member who has already agreed to the Work-History Terms and Conditions, including providing a valid tax file number (TFN or social security number). The member also has to disclose their name, as such they cannot be anonymous. In turn, anyone writing a reference can have a reference written about them, which creates a balanced, honest and dependable environment.

How does my Star Rating work?

Your Star Rating forms the basis of your Work-History performance review. You can be Star Rated at your current job or any past job. Once you build up a number of Star Ratings you can see where you have improved and possibly where you still require some improvement.

Star Ratings are a Total score based on the answers to 20 questions which are completed by your employer, plus the Work-History Bonus Points algorithm.

Your Star Ratings will assist in motivating you to improve your ongoing performance and communicate to you where your employer feels you are hitting the mark or may need to step up, without any awkward or intimidating confrontation.

How is my Star Rating calculated?

Your Star Rating is calculated through a standard fifteen questions that are the same across all industries (unless your employer opts to create their own questionnaire). All fifteen questions are multiple choice, and your employer will chose the answer that best suits how they see your performance.

There are also five Role specific (job specific) questions that are applied according to the industry and job you work in. They are also multiple choice and are answered the same way.

Further, there are five bonus point categories that allow you to earn a higher star rating.

In effect the 20 questions give you a score out of 100 and the bonus points can add 10 points to your score, or subtract 10 points from your score. Therefore, it’s theoretically possible that if you give 110% your score will be 110. For example:

  • A five star rating is a score of 100 or more
  • A 3 star rating is a 60/100 score

What are Work-History Bonus Points?

Bonus Points are additional points added to your 20 questions score, derived from various other areas of your employment. These bonus points are added to your score, improving or decreasing your Star Rating.

How are Bonus Points attributed?

Various aspects of your employment are used to calculate bonus points. These include;

  • The number of positive CCC References you receive per role
  • The length of time in your role being Star Rated
  • The number of Star Ratings you receive per annum
  • Your average Star Rating in your role being Star Rated
  • Your average Star Rating across all roles

How do I request a Star Rating?

Work-History tips for job-hunting success?

If your Work-History records are verified and Star Rated, imagine how much further ahead of your job-hunting competition you will be if they are merely relying on their own old-style, self created and unverified information.

The aim is to have as many Star Rated and verified roles as possible, frequent Star Ratings and as many CCC References supporting and balancing up your profile as possible. It is suggested to have little or none unexplained periods of unemployment shown on your Work-History Timeline chart as prospective employers will always be looking at employment continuity and will have questions if absences appear without explanation.

You can always use the "About Me" personal message section on your Profile page to explain any Timeline variations and any other information you think will help you to stand out from the crowd.
